As an overnight guest at Munkebjerg Hotel, we store your bicycle in our specially designed Service Course.
Here, guests on a cycling holiday only have access with a key card.
The entrance to the Service Course – to the bicycle workshop – is built with tinted windows. This means that we shield it from view, so that it is not possible to stand outside and get an overview of which bikes live with us.
In addition, we have video surveillance in and around the Service Course - you can therefore safely leave your bike to us.
In the Service Course you can repair, adjust and wash your bike, and you will find work stations and the following tools for free use:

The cycle routes in and around Vejle are many and invite you on both water and forest and Denmark's absolute hardest alpine cycle routes in nature and in the city of Vejle.
If you are looking forward to a cycling holiday based here at the Munkebjerg Hotel, you will be living in a forest known for its hilly terrain and for adding "mountain" to Denmark's only genuine serpentine road. A 1,8 kilometer long mountain road that winds from Vejle Fjord up through the forest to the Munkebjerg Hotel with an ascent of 60 metres.
Today this will be Denmark's L'Alpe d'Huez often used in connection with active outdoor life in the form of cycling, orienteering, fitness running, hiking and cycling on mountain bikes.

BIKE VACATION
FOR MOUNTAIN BIKE RIDERS
If you have your mountain bike with you on a cycling holiday, the loop route of 2,9 km in Munkebjergskoven is one of the easier ones.
The route is open all year round and beautiful to visit at any time.
Here you will experience an ascent of 117 metres, while you are guided through the forest's scenic surroundings down along Ibæk, which flows into Vejle Fjord.
This loop route is for everyone and you don't need to be in top shape to ride it.
However, if you are into more challenging tracks, the unique and very hilly Ice Age landscape around Vejle Ådal is made for demanding and beautiful mountain bike tours.

And it is certainly not without reason that Vejle was the Grand Départ city on the 3rd stage of the Tour de France in 2022. With climbs of over 21%, the Kingdom of Cycling offers some of the steepest hills in Denmark.
There are many ways to have a cycling holiday - and if you are into road cycling, Vejle and its surroundings offer everything that cycling enthusiasts dream of:
Denmark's most hilly terrain, king climbs, super routes and 34 hill signs that tell you the lengths of the hills, maximum percentages of climb, average climbs and number of meters in height.
